Not that I'm trying to get information out ahead of time, just how does Plant taking the escape pod back to the station cause the end of the universe?
If you're going to reveal the connection in a future strip, I don't mind if you don't answer, but I'm failing to see the connection at the moment. _________________ Whatever happened to simplicity? |

I don't want to give too much away, but I will say that the connection between the escape pod and the current events in V3's system will be established. _________________

Stupid question: Even if the alternate reality beasts hadn't eaten the space station, wouldn't the present crew of Station v3 eventually have to send their space station back in time? Thus, they would be without a space station one way or another. _________________ Whatever happened to simplicity? |

Without giving too much away - if everything happened the way it did, they will have to take the station back in time at some point. _________________

http://www.stationv3.com/d/20030525.html - All the current crisis over one call. Way back when you did that strip, did you know you were going to follow-up on it? _________________ Whatever happened to simplicity? |

I wrote it as a one-time joke that could be followed up on at some point - I didn't have anything specific in mind for what that followup would be at the time, though!
I started tying it in to the plot against the station with the Plotter Fish and the Zog Beta system. _________________

Call me confused or maybe I'm getting ahead, but wasn't Mr Consultant present when the space station arrived from the future? I haven't seen him around yet. _________________ Whatever happened to simplicity? |

He was - and his ship has been seen from time to time flying around the planet. The part where they took the station back to the past and got a new one happened while the rumormonger was talking on Sunday - and since this time Mr. Green was involved, it may not have happened exactly the way it originally did. _________________

I thought you might be sticking with a working paradox theory like Time's Arrow in ST:NG or Babylon Squared/War Without End in Babylon 5.
Personally, I do have two big takes on time travel:
1)if time travel is relatively 'cheap', then history should be immutable.
or
2)if time travel is relatively 'expensive' then history is mutable.
I'll elaborate more in the appropriate forum. _________________ Whatever happened to simplicity? |

I don't want to give too much away, but the time loop wasn't the only thing going on.

Sounds like a good topic for the PodWarp 1999 forum! (So I moved your post from General Discussion to there.) _________________

I take it from your announcement that you generally plot things out at least 1 month in advance? Or do you plot things out further in advance than 1 month? _________________ Whatever happened to simplicity? |

Usually I plan out the general idea of what's going to happen in the next month, with maybe a few specific strips that will come up along the way. I usually don't go too far into the future, because things will often change a little along the way! _________________
