I think I found it on an ad over at Fish Tank. I read the first one which pointed me to the bonus archive. So I finished that first not quite knowing what it was. |

Welcome to the forum! Good to know the ads are working.
(And yes, I suppose the bonus archive might seem a bit odd if you read that first...) _________________

You should definitely enjoy the actual comic, then! _________________

I am; I'm at Oct 16th 2004.
BTW... I've noticed something odd about this strip. The characters say "try to" instead of "try and."
Someone actually getting that right is rare as hell. |

Heh. Welcome to the madness. I clicked a few ad links to other comics from V3. I tried... maybe 3 or 4 of them. I read in about 10 episodes and gave up on each. I was wondering why, given how rough V3 was when it started, yet I made it all the way in.
I went back and read the first 2 weeks of V3, and discovered why I stayed. It was already funny. |

I saw a wonderful ad with a comic in it beside Gianna's "the noob" comic. It was two rumormongers finding a monolith .
-What's this?
-It's a monolith!
-Well, that was exciting.
Clicked it and started reading from when Floyd brought the plant hoping it would cheer the place up. That was a few weeks ago. |

The monolith ad does seem to be one of the most successful ones I've run - I've tried a couple others in a similar format, but they haven't done quite as well. So I usually wind up going back to the monolith.
It's interesting seeing which sites are the best to run the ads on - "The Noob" was a good one. _________________

The monolith comic really captures something. Two beings seeing something extraordinary. It is that, but it is no cosmic fate attatched, no lifechanging cycle of events, none of the excaggerated things that movies and the like make us expect. It's just exciting and then the beings are perfectly happy to move on. I love it . |

That's an interesting analysis! You may be on to something... It could explain why that ad did better than these two:
I'll have to see if I have another strip like the monolith one I can use for an ad. _________________

Maybe you could try using this one?:
http://www.stationv3.com/d/20061103.html
Linton: Unidentified Shuttle Approaching!
Linton (running): Security Alert! Security Alert!
Ebb?/Neap?: ?
Mr Maintenance Engineer: Emmit and Unit 6 are back with the new shuttle.
Floyd: So I hear...
It has the quality that made me really like this comic as I started reading it. The familiar predictability of the characters, making you feel like you really get to know them. I imagine this one would give that feel even to someone not having seen the characters before. |

i first found the ad at Phil likes Tacos, i ignored it for quite some time, it was the unreality wave ad, the one where the rumormonger says there's a rumor about an unreality wave =P after seeing that ad many times on Phil like's tacos and 95 Gallons it made me curious so i clicked it, and saved it on my favs, later i started reading it, and as Dream said i get to know the charactars, so that's how now im on the 1551st =D |
