I can imagine what someone must be thinking if their first encounter with Silence is 3 black, empty panels with no dialogue. Still, I suppose most people find out about Silence after encountering Station V3 or Z7, as I did, and thus have a pretty good idea that Q16 is a space station, like V3 or Z7.

It's also interesting to wonder just who is talking to who. I'm still reading the archive, but as far as I've seen, only one time did we see the two characters in the light, when the emergency power came on briefly. Even so, we have no way of knowing if it's the same two characters all this time, or if the characters are actually different ones (although the latter possibility was alluded to at one point or another).

In their simplicity and their absurdity, these space station strips are some of the most interesting and surreal that I have encountered.

Actually, a number of people have seen Silence before the other comics - especially when some German sites linked to it last year. And some people have also found it through StumbleUpon.

Besides the two characters seen, there have been at least two others unseen (but they've had dialogue) - and also the emergency power screen, the bug, and the occasional rumormonger strip.

I laughed really hard when I ran into the first all-dark 3-panel strip. As the previous one has 4 panels.
