It isn't too much of a stretch to see how Sir Arthur Clarke's books contributed to the existence of your comics. I've read all the 2001 & follow-up books.

Personally, I found his vision way too optimistic.

His influence is there, directly and indirectly. He'll be missed.

In your blog, you mentioned he was the the last of science fiction's "Big Three."

Who do you consider to be the other two?

The usual "Big Three" list I've seen is Clarke, Asimov, and Heinlein. (Seems about right to me!)
